SAMPLING MADE SIMPLE
At Trantec, we manufacture auger powder samplers designed to provide accurate and reliable specimens of both free-flowing and poor-flowing dry bulk solids and are most suited to sampling materials from hoppers and gravity chutes. Sampling powders during production is crucial to ensure the product meets the correct criteria and to determine if the manufacturing process is operating correctly or if remedial action is needed.
Trantec powder samplers are highly cost-effective due to their ultra-low power consumption and produce fast and effective specimens. The sampler is configured for volumetric feeding and can be programmed to manually or automatically take samples in continuous operation or in batches to suit the customer’s needs. Minimalistic in construction, they consist of just one auger screw and a motor gearbox; therefore require minimal maintenance. The auger draws the material from the product steam, while the gearbox and variable speed controller allows speed adjustments to control the size of the specime.
The screw auger is designed in-house using 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design)/CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) construction techniques and is manufactured in either mild steel, stainless steel 304 or 316, depending on the application requirements, in addition, we also supply auger screws in various sizes and in several finishes, allowing us to supply powder samplers to all industries. Finishes available include standard, weld as laid, 240 grit, bead blasted, crevice-free, or a mirror (0.2Ra) finish for pharmaceutical use.
