Chemical powder handling equipment

Chemical Industry Materials Handling

How Trantec Serves the Chemical Industries

Trantec has been supplying dry solids metering and handling equipment to the chemicals industry for just under two decades. A Metering Screw Feeder will typically be used for the accurate feeding of powder coatings, adhesives, toners, sealing compounds, fertilisers, and much more.

Our Flexible Screw Conveyors (or Flexible Spiral Conveyors, as they’re also known) and Rigid Auger Conveyors are often used as a transportation method of raw powders and chemicals.

Depending on the process a Gravimetric or a Volumetric feeder will be deployed capable of metering free flowing or cohesive materials. Our feeders use the latest powder dosing technology in order to feed the materials with precision and accuracy.

The needs of the Chemical Industry

The chemical industry is very challenging as there are certain products that require a lot of planning and careful consideration. There are chemicals that are corrosive or explosive. For this reason, it is important that cross-contamination does not occur.

Trantec supplies ATEX zoned machinery for applications handling potentially explosive materials. These are manufactured with 316 grade stainless steel material to prevent corrosion.

Trantec’s screw feeders deliver accuracy and reliability when it comes to metering powders and bulk solids. Our feeders are very robust and contain innovative features that allow our equipment to handle the most demanding challenges.

Trantec screw feeders specialise in many aspects of the chemicals industry, including both industrial and agricultural chemicals. Plastic resins, pigments and dyes, detergents, adhesives, powder paints, and fire retardants are just a few examples of the type of materials that are handled.
